Katherine Vallin was born in Paris into a family deeply rooted in French traditions. Drawn to theatre since the age of twelve, she began her studies as an actor at fourteen. She graduated from several acting conservatories including two years in the renowned Paris Simon cours. During these years she also studied voice and singing technique with a private coach. Her professional performing career started at seventeen. Katherine has toured in France in Ionesco’s Jacques ou la Soumission and with the Comedia del Arte Repertoire in the role of Colombina.
She later studied stage and interior design at L’ecole des Arts decoratif de Paris. After completing her thesis, she received a Fulbright Scholarship to the American Institute for Production Design. She has been working in the film industry in the United States since 1985. Katherine has kept active as an actor, her first passion, through voice work, voice over, radio spots and dubbing. She is represented by ICM.
Katherine is expert at coaching English speaking actors for French speaking performances. Mark Wahlberg, Lenny von Dohlen and Robert Forster are among her clients. Katherine also can supervise any work that requires French language skills.
She has been called upon for simultaneous translation on set, between French and English speaking clients and for live broadcast Q&A sessions. Her fifteen years of film and commercial experience are a great asset and reassurance to her clients.
